The Help We Really Need

Being a new mom has been quite challenging at times and I am grateful to those who’ve showed compassion, understanding and forgiveness when necessary. 🏆

I am still working towards the best possible me and best possible mom I can be and I am excited to start a program specifically for mother’s like me. 🏩

PPD and Anxiety or other Postpartum Mood Disorders are very real and very hard for those unfortunate enough to experience it.

Check on your friends, especially the ones you haven’t seen in a while.

Call them, visit them, make sure they’re ok. 🏚

Bring them food, go with them to the grocery store, help them vacuum, hold the baby while they shower, run a load of dishes or just sit down and ask how they feel and what they need without asking for anything in return.

Any little kindness can go a very long way. 🧖🏻‍♀️

I think it’s important to de stigmatize the very real struggle becoming a mother can be.

It doesn’t always have to look easy, your hair and clothes will almost always be dirty, most of the time the process of even leaving the house without sweatpants or at all can feel like more of a challenge than it’s worth. 😐

Selfies, filters, “influencers” and staged moments with “meaningful” quotes or those statement signs that say something witty someone else said can be fun, but they should not be seen as to gold standard of what a “good mother” looks like. 🙌🏼

At the end of the day, we are all doing the best we can with the tools we have…

Here’s a little secret…

Everybody poops… 💩

So the next time you feel like comparing yourself to someone else and feeling inadequate…

Go ahead and imagine them taking a messy dump, hopefully that will help adjust your perspective. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I am not a perfect mother, but I definitely put every ounce of my being into doing whatever I can to love, care for and teach my baby.

I believe we all do, no matter how messy it can look sometimes. 💨

Cheers to all the Females out there trying their best to spend their energy in ways that support and only add positivity to the lives of others. 🦸🏻‍♀️

To everyone else…

Remember that every pregnancy is different & no one is immune to the human condition – So be kind, you never know when the mom you judge is just the mom you need around when you find yourself in hard times.😘
