When we moved in last July I had a very sad aloe plant that seemed to be on its last legs… In an attempt to revive it I replanted it in the existing planter box. To my amazement, it’s been doing incredibly well. (It was a quarter of its current size & almost completely brown) So I decided I am officially a gardening superhero 🦸🏻♀️ and started attempting to plant other items.
Also immediately after moving into our current home. I took cuttings from mint that was growing wildly in the back yard of our previous home. In addition to snipping some rosemary bush cuttings from a neighbor as we walked our dogs.
Both the Rosemary and Mint cuttings have seemed to survive… Despite my complete lack of experience with propagating plant cuttings, short of having watched my grandmother in her garden when I was maybe 5 years old.
Emboldened by my apparent super mutant 🦹🏻♀️ powers as a green thumb 🌿, I recently decided to make some changes to the current planter box situation.
This flower was present and pretty wilted and angry when we first crossed paths & last summer I brought it back to life and it bloomed these tiny little clusters of bright red, orange and yellow flowers. I pulled it and re-potted it, because I want to try and grow more herbs in the planter box. If I can get it blooming again, hopefully I can figure out what it is. 🤷🏻♀️
The Saga of The Mystery Bulbs
I found some very small mystery bulbs in the front yard, after they suddenly sprouted in a place that was not going to be good for them to remain. Rather than watch them deteriorate I am attempting to transplant them to a better location.
I saw a Pinterest post and of course felt inspired to try and grow my own lemons from seeds. I followed the instructions for some of the seeds and placed them in a jar, for the remaining seeds I wanted to see what might happen naturally and I planted them in an empty spot in the yard. 🤞🏼Let’s see what happens.
